    Hi all you lovely people,
Please could somebody help me. I've just got hold of my first super 8 camera and plan to record sound onto minidisc but have got absolutely no idea a). Of what I'm doing and b). Of how to log the sound so that both it and the film can be synchronised when editing.
If anyone can help and/or warn me about any problems that I am likely to encounter, I would be extremely grateful.
    Big Thanks,
    Nishe xx

    hey,
i think it'll be pritty difficult to get sync sound unless you have crystal sync in both pieces of equipment. But that introduces more problems, unless you've got a Beaulieu? But if you've got the equipment, you might as well give it a shot!?

say "scene 1 take 1" into the mic. write "scene 1 take 1" on the slate. clap and pray. if your camera has been modified for crystal sync, it will work. if your camera is "electronically controlled", it will work "for a while" (keep the shots short). otherwise, if you have the time, you can sync it up sentence by sentence, word by word or syllable by syllable... or you can tail slate and stretch the audio digitally to fill the gap.
